Its signature hole is the beautiful No. 18 with a meandering waterfall that stretches the length of the fairway. Granada has a nice mix of par 3s, 4s and 5s. One of the best and most difficult holes is No. 17, a 465-yard par-4 with a green 60 yards long.
ISABELLA GOLF CLUB
Opened in 2000, Isabella Golf Club was ranked as the number one course in Arkansas by Golf Digest and the Arkansas Business Journal from 2002-2006 and has continued to receive high rankings year after year. Designed by Ault, Clark & Associates, Isabella is a 27-hole complex featuring three unique nine-hole rotations—Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria. Partnering with The Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism in 2019, Isabella was added to the Arkansas Golf Trail. The trail provides golf packages and information for golf travelers from across the country to include Arkansas and Isabella as a golfing destination.
PONCE DE LEON GOLF CLUB
Ponce de Leon is a fun 18 hole regulation course located at the Ponce De Leon Golf Course facility in Hot Springs Village, AR. From the longest tees it features 6,946 yards of golf for a par of 72. Opened in 1991 by Arkansas’s own PGA tour player John Daly, Ponce de Leon Golf Club is consistently ranked in the state’s top ten courses by Golf Digest and Arkansas Business Journal. With its tree-lined fairways and consistently true greens, Ponce is a favorite among low-handicap golfers in Hot Springs Village.
CORTEZ GOLF CLUB
Cortez Golf Club is known as the shot maker’s course. You don’t have to have a long drive, but you’d better hit the landing area to avoid trouble. It’s a beautiful course winding its way across rolling hills through hickory, oak and pine trees and alongside sparkling water. The elevation changes and water hazards provide plenty of challenges, but five sets of tees accommodate most players. Many consider No. 10 as one of the toughest holes in the Village. It’s a 425-yard par-4 with a downhill slope before going back up to an elevated green. Designed by Ault, Clark & Associates Cortez has one of the most photographed scenes in the Village – the picturesque view of a mountain peak from the No. 17 tee.
MAGELLAN GOLF CLUB
Although the Magellan Golf Course is one of the shortest layouts at Hot Springs Village and it lacks the length of other courses in the area, the stunningly beautiful golf facility presents tricky greens (renovated in 2012) ensuring golfers of all skill levels find a great challenge. Originally opened as a three-hole golf school, Magellan continues to be one of the best practice facilities in the community with a large driving range, putting green and several short game areas.
DESOTO GOLF CLUB
Opened in 1972 as Hot Springs Village’s first traditional course, Desoto Golf Club is player-friendly and a great choice for family play. It has three great finishing holes with a par 5 at No. 16, a par 4 at No. 17 and another great par 5 at No. 18. Recently renovated, DeSoto is sure to be in tip-top shape for all future golfing seasons. Designed by Ault, Clark & Associates.
BALBOA GOLF CLUB
Designed by Ault, Clark & Associates, Balboa Golf Course has been recognized among the state’s top ten layouts and is considered a favorite by residents. Although equipped with carts, the Balboa Golf Club is a walker-friendly course with roomier fairways and fewer changes in elevation than most other course in Hot Springs Village. The combination of water hazards and bunkers requires a strategic plan to save par, and it has quite a collection of challenging par 3s.
CORONADO GOLF CLUB
Coronado is a cozy 18 hole executive course located at the Coronado Golf Course facility in Hot Springs Village. Specifically designed as a Par 62 course focusing on the mid and short game. If you’re not a fan of the beach, then you’re in luck as you’ll find no sand here. It’s perfect for a quick round of 18 holes but doesn’t skimp on the challenge. From the longest tees it offers 3,895 yards of golf for a par of 62. The course was designed by Edmund B. Ault, ASGCA and opened in 1983.
DIAMANTE COUNTRY CLUB (PRIVATE)
Diamante is the only private membership golf club in Hot Springs Village, first opening for play in 1995, and it’s widely recognized as one of the most challenging golf courses ever built, stretching to an incredible 7,560 yards from the back tees. Often seen as a big hitter’s paradise, five of the par 4 holes reaching out to over 470 yards.
The more memorable holes at Diamante include the water-laden par three 4th and the short par four 17th. Beware the trio of long par fours at 13 to 15 because this set of demanding holes, arriving so late in the round, has the potential to ruin any good score.
